KORAKUEN GARDEN

We visited KORAKUEN GARDEN this afternoon.

KORAKUEN GARDEN is one of the three must be beautiful gardens in Japan, is  a cultural heritage site for the world to treasure.

In 1687, Ikeda Tsunamas, daimyo , Japanese feudal lord, ordered Tsuda Nagamasa to begin construction of KORAKUEN.

It was completed in 1700, and has retained it's original appearance down to the present day, except for a few changes by various daimyo.

KORAKUEN is one of the few Daimyo gardens in the provinces where historical change can be observed, thanks to the many Edo Period paintings and Ikeda Family records and documents left behind.

The garden was used as a place for daimyo, although regular folk could also visit on certain days.

In 1884, own ship was transferred to Okayama prefecture and the garden was opened to the public.

The garden suffered severe damage during the floods of 1934 and during WWⅡ bombing in 1945, but has been restored based on Edo Period paintings and diagrams.

In 1952, KORAKUEN  GARDEN was designated as a Speial Scenic Location under the Cultural Properties Protection Law, and is managed as  historical cultural asset to be passed to future generations.

They came from Zoo, the pet shop at Ebisu, sibuya word Tokyo.

You know, two are the baby angel fishes.   They are so small, 2cm.  You know that big angel fish is so expensive, for example, 2000 yen 〜5000yen. But they are not expensive. Because they are baby.  One is for 250yen at Zoo pet shop,Ebisu.

They are so cute. I worried about our beta. Because I thought our beta does not like the new fishes.

But our beta does not attack to them.  I am glad to see that.
